About Us

Welcome to Hillfield Trading.

So if you have found yourself in this part of the website you must be interested in who, how and why.

Or contact us here.

Hillfield Trading fundamentally started off life from the outbuildings of two young Dorset boys, James and Clive, looking for ways to earn some extra pocket money.
We began by selling all the unwanted items cluttering up our parents houses. After passing our driving tests we moved into selling cars, something that had been instilled in Clive from a young age after watching his father run a successful classic car storage and transportation business for many years. Clive has always retained his passion for cars and is demonstrated by his employment within both Haynes Motor Museum and an Aston Martin race prep and restoration workshop.
But always still with an eye for a bargain and gratefully selling items for family and friends.
Following years at college and university, both of us paused to have fantastic career's with Yeovil Town Football Club, learning vast amounts about Facilities Management, Health and Safety, Networking, PAT Testing and Customer Service.
Clive relocated to Portsmouth and secured a position within a performance improvement company, furthering his Customer Service skills and James progressed even further with Stadium Management.
After tie-ins with a firm of insolvency practitioners, various landlords and business men, Hillfield's philosophy of 'Why buy new'  Hillfield Trading was born and away it went.
With our own experience listed on the home page, if we can not help you with what needs doing, we will know someone who can!

Charity has always been close to Clive's heart, but after loosing his mother to cancer at a young age and becoming the youngest ever member of his local Lions Club International he has always done what he can for family's in need. He has decided that as the business grows he hopes to donate to local charity and people that need the items we trade in.
But we made an amazing start in October 2011 when we started to look into Micro Financing.
Since then we have also worked with local charity Community Fusion on many occasions who do fantastic youth work in Portsmouth.
